Kanovitz, a jazz musician who played in inter-racial clubs in the 1950’s, often incorporated Afro-Americans in his work. 

 

Fabienne Stephan and Adam Shopkorn curated the 2014 exhibition “Transition Game”, referencing the parallel evolution of basketball’s integration and civil rights in America during the mid to late 1960s.
